The path to U.S. citizenship includes specific residency requirements, the ability to read, write and speak English, and an understanding of U.S. history and government.
During a naturalization interview, an officer from US Citizenship and Immigration Services may ask up to 10 questions from a list of 100 questions in English. Some answers may change because of elections or political appointments. Applicants must answer correctly 6 of the 10 questions to pass the civics test.
